At Athens Group you will have a high degree of responsibility working on highly-automated drilling rigs around the globe, delivering our unique risk mitigation and problem remediation services for Rig and Drilling Control Systems. All of our customers are referenceable. We keep it that way by dedicating the time and attention needed to train you on our Proven Practices Methodology and by continuing to develop and deliver new, high-value services. Many of our new services are defined and suggested by our consultants.

Senior Consultant – Drilling Technology Assurance (DTA)


Qualifications:

  • Three to five years in the consulting profession
  • Bachelors degree in computer science, electrical engineering or similar
  • Minimum five years of experience managing software projects in diverse technical environments
  • Experience with multiple software development methodologies
  • Strong knowledge of project management tools and techniques for software projects: e.g., project planning, risk management, issue tracking, configuration management, version control.
  • Strong writing and technical documentation skills
  • Passion for traveling and working on a rotation schedule: 14-28 days offshore or abroad with time off upon returning home

 

Preferred:

  • Hands-on software development experience
  • PMP Certification or equivalent
  • Software Quality Assurance and testing experience
  • Automation/Control Systems experience
  • Electrical Engineering experience
  • Passport with at least 6 months remaining validity
  • Oil & Gas industry experience, especially upstream and/or offshore

 

Consultant – Drilling Technology Assurance (DTA)

 

Qualifications:

  • Two years of consulting experience
  • Bachelors degree in computer science, electrical engineering or similar
  • Two years of experience with software and control systems development
  • Experience with multiple software development methodologies
  • Strong writing and technical documentation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to excel on a team
  • Passion for traveling and working on a rotation schedule: 14-28 days offshore or abroad with time off upon returning home

 

Preferred:

  • Experience in one or more of the following areas:
    • Oil & Gas industry experience, especially upstream and/or offshore
    • Experience with project management tools and techniques for software projects
    • Software Quality Assurance and testing experience
    • Experience working in politically challenging environments
    • Computer network experience
    • Experience with equipment from vendors such as NOV, Weatherford, Oceaneering, Cameron, Hydril, Kongsberg, L-3, Emerson Process, Raytheon, Honeywell, Siemens, and Allen Bradley
  • Passport with at least 6 months remaining validity
  • Offshore safety certifications
